Detailed Answer:hello. thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and i have noted your concern.

You may use minoxidil 5% solution (Mintop forte), 1 ml, twice daily at scalp skin with the help of a dropper suplied with pack.In addition I suggest you to take a tablet of finasteride (Finax 1mg), once daily.Minoxidil and finasteride are approved remedies for hair loss in males. Goal of treatment is to arrest or slow further progression of hair loss/ thinning and regrow new hair. Treatment is long term.

Detailed Answer:hi.

for how long?It takes 3-6 months for noticeable effect. Are you also taking the tablet? Minoxidil alone is not as effective if it is not combined with finasteride. If together these are still ineffective after a fair trial of 6 months you may opt for PRP i.e platelet rich plasma sessionss

Yes, it has been more than a year that I have tried the following solution.Regarding platelet rich plasma sessions, can you give your inputs regarding the costs and number of sessions associated with the procedure. Also, as compared to FUT surgery(which was suggested to me by one consultant), how does it stack up?

answer Id 954910; conversation id 992902 Brief Answer:Advice regarding hair loss

Detailed Answer:hi.

FUT is a hair transplant technique and it definitely superior to PRP as it is long lasting/ more or less permanent. As far as PRP is concerned it would cost anywhere between 3k to 5k per session. You can take 3-4 sessions every 1-2 months initially and then every 3-4 months for maintenance of improvement. With both these forms of treatment i.e either PRP or FUT you still need to simultaneously continue with minoxidil and finasteride.

But while your hair is probably the last thing on your mind, it is part of an issue that not enough people talk about: postpartum hair loss. What Is Postpartum Hair Loss? During pregnancy, a lot of women may start to feel like Rapunzel due to their hair growing so fast and strong that you feel it could hoist a handsome prince up a tower (wouldn't that be great?). "Many women notice longer, more voluminous hair during pregnancy thanks to pregnancy hormone spikes trapping hair in the growth (anagen) phase of the hair cycle," Dr. Hawthorne explained. A Breakthrough for Hair Loss! PGD2 and Natural Ways to Regrow Your Hair

In 2012, the dermatology departments of the University of Pennsylvania and Johns Hopkins University generated a lot of buzz around a potential "miracle cure" for baldness. The big discovery? A relationship between prostaglandin D2 (a fatty acid derivative) and male pattern baldness, and hair loss in women. The researchers demonstrated, for the first time in humans, that a lipid derivative called prostaglandin D2 was elevated in balding areas – but not in hair-bearing areas – of men with hair loss. More importantly, they also discovered that prostaglandin D2 inhibits hair lengthening. The more prostaglandin D2 present, the shorter a hair grows. The team suggested that by maybe inhibiting prostaglandin D2 in the scalp, hair loss might be stopped. And that got a lot of hair loss sufferers (and pharmaceutical companies) excited. Prostaglandin-D2 inhibitors were already in trials as a treatment for asthma. It wouldn't be hard to develop a topical for men&#
