Many young women in Mongolia have taken up the challenge to succeed in the business industry and advance their careers since the beginning of 21st century. Now, we often hear about young and established female entrepreneurs working in various sectors in Mongolia. The public is relatively supportive of women entrepreneurs compared to other countries, but there is no doubt that they face a dual burden when it comes to having a career and taking care of their family, as Mongolia has longstanding gender stereotypes and social norms concerning the roles of women and men.T.Oyunjargal is a hardworking entrepreneur taking on her daily challenges as the director of Eco Beauty Salon. She was once an ordinary girl who dreamed of becoming a hairdresser and within just 10 years, she managed to open a large salon with three branches across the capital. She started her business with her husband six years ago and now, the salon has more than 30 employees specialized in beauty care and hairdres sing. Eco Beauty Salon initiated Khalgai (nettle) treatment, a new eco-friendly treatment against hair loss that combines traditional remedy with modern technology.According to a survey by Eco Beauty Salon, two out of three people in Mongolia are suffering from hair thinning and hair loss due to stress, lack of vitamins, and poor diet. Not only in Mongolia but people around the globe are concerned about hair loss. Nettle is believed to be an effective remedy for regrowing lost hair. The salon offers a 10-day treatment, which includes Khalgai treatment, shar tos (yellow butter) massage, and scalp victimizing treatments.T.Oyunjargal says that these treatments help open up hair follicles and that they add volume to hair and recover the natural color of hair when regularly applied. She proudly claimed that many people with severe hair loss were able to regrow their hair after the treatment. Over 2,000 people have received Khalgai treatment from Eco Beauty Salon, according to the directo r.Khalgai is a plant rich in vitamins and minerals and is often used in medicine. In particular, Mongolians often drink Khalgai to improve health and use it for all kinds of purposes around the house. It's even fed to livestock to recover their strength. Many Mongolian elders wash their hair with Khandgai extracts as it is believed to cure headaches and other conditions. T.Oyunjargal was inspired by her grandmother's practice to wash hair with Khalgai extract and started a research on the plant. After doing various research and reading many studies on Khalgai, she consulted professionals about how she can create a new treatment using modern technology."I read many academic studies on Khalgai and designed a treatment with the help of professionals. Of course, we didn't see results immediately. I had to resolve many issues to create our treatment. The most important part of our treatment is the storage regime. Our storage regime ensures that Khalgai supplements preserve as much vitamin and minerals as they had before they were harvested. That is the reason why our Khalgai treatment is so effective," explained T.Oyunjargal.Eco Beauty Salon aims to introduce their treatment in other countries and help people all around the world become more content with their appearance and recover their lost self-esteem cause by hair loss problems. The salon's current vision is to open 30 branches in different parts of the globe."Khalgai naturally grows in large quantities throughout Mongolia. We can use this to our advantage. Most hair treatment products sold abroad are produced with chemical substances. The modern notion is to use eco-friendly and natural products as much as possible. This will impact positively on us when we head out to foreign markets such as the ones in Southeast Asian countries. Air pollution is a major problem in Southeast Asian countries as they have many industries and factories. This causes acid rain, which in turn causes hair loss," stated T.Oyunjargal.She added that she is interested in expanding her business near the Arabian Peninsula.
