Now there's some surprising news about the products: More than 200 women have joined a class action lawsuit against the hair care company and its parent company Guthy-Renker, claiming that WEN Cleansing Conditioner causes hair loss.

While WEN has gained a cult following for its self-professed ability to "take the place of your shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detangler, and leave-in conditioner", the products have also generated hundreds of negative online reviews.

Interestingly, online reviews dating back several years mention hair loss occurring after use of the products, which may result in more people joining the suit. To regrow her hair, Friedman said she had to spend a substantial amount of money on vitamins and extensions.

A number of the women claimed that the conditioner caused significant hair loss to the point where they had visible bald spots.
